Can you tell us your story? I assume you've been victimized by

Damn those doctors! Human society got along just fine without
treatments for polio and other infectious diseases! We should all
revert back to the medicine practiced during the 12th century!

Or, you know, perhaps you're just a goddamn moron.

go fuck yourself, i have read stories about people going through the
side effects of modern medicine who had suffered from polio as a child
and said that the suffering from polio was far more preferable than
the shit he went through as an adult from these meds, medicine is good
at the appropriate time, but it is over used and under tested these
days, i really hope one day you get some shit from your doctor that
really fucks you up for being such an ignorant prick.

I personally would have rather died or had my leg cut off than what
those god damn misprescribed antibiotics did to me. FACT. so yes, itn
my case YES I WOULD. idiot.

The field of medicine is an ever-evolving science. Modern medicine
still does not completely understand the mysteries of the human body
and mind. But modern medicine currently contains the best solutions to
serious illnesses and injuries. Period.

I have been at 3 doctors when the "salespeople" showed up & heard them
talking about "free golfing" & "trips"... doc's do get pain to write
scrips for meds !! (USA anyways)

PS. the salespeople where "hot chicks" in short skirts... I think it
should be pointed out!!

so, we can believe someone who has had polio and been on modern meds

yes, it can, modern medicine CAN, but it is not to say that it is well
IMPLEMENTED by doctors, so we applaud SCIENTISTS not DOCTORS, as i

This is fair. There are indeed errors and malpractices that occur in
the field of medicine. Not all doctors are to blame for this, but just
the same, it does happen.

Not according to L Ron Hubbard. They're all incompetent

[...] psychiatrists are simply outright murderers. The solution is [...] to
demand medical doctors become competent and to abolish psychiatry and
psychiatrists as well as psychologists and other infamous Nazi criminal
outgrowths.

Psychiatrists are evil as sin, according to Hubbard, and have been for the
last 76 trillion years.

These vacuums go back for 76 Trillion years. They were the original
brainwash thetans did to one another, then psychiatrists (on the whole
track) did expertly (modern psychiatrists are punks, modern shock too
feeble to do more than restimulate old vacuums).

Were not discussing real medical doctors who know what their doing. I
have the most upward respect for those who work in the emergency
departments including regular physicians. Psychiatry is the laughing
stock in the medical profession. Their M.D title really stands for
Mass destruction. Psychiatrist doesn't do any blood work (or medical
examination) with the exception to save their asses from the dangerous
drugs that their providing for their patients.

I don't have a problem with the medical community, only psychiatry.

real medical doctors can suck bricks too, if you call a GP a real
medical doctor, knows nothing about anything. doctors are completely
stupid ignorant arrogant pricks. only met one nice one ever. they sit
there and ask me how i knew i had pneumonia when i was in ER , and i
was like hello? i demanded xrays which revealed it? (which they should
have had) hello? i cant breathe? i mean nowadays they dont even listen
to your chest any more with a stethescope, when i asked him to, he
asked me what he should be listening for? Yes, i would have much
rather gone home and died in peace than stay there. i dont know if it
is time constraints or over work but they have gone down hill.

A little over-dramatic, but not entirely undeserved. Psychiatry is
largely a field of guesswork and pseudoscience. It does, however,
provide the best currently available solutions to certain types of
illnesses, such as schizophrenia. The benefits of psychiatry for the
treatment of so-called emotional disorders is clearly over-rated.

yes, perhaps because they dont know how to pick up the pieces or are
not aware of medicine interactions from medicines stupid psychs. GPs
etc are left to dish out antidepressants etc, and they dont know what
they are doing.

GPs give out psychiatric meds (antidepressants) at the drop of a hat,
and they are the "medical community" I dont know when the last time
you ended up in hospital Jeff but you have to admit its a total joke.

if you gp suggests you take it, let me know and I'll visit with an
eztra large strap-on.

it is vile and it will not help you.

it fucks you up more and is horrific to get off of.

if you want to be shafted and try it, so be it.

i'd rather shaft my gp for prescribing it in the first place, the evil

I cannot tell you how scared I have been trying to reduce the dose.
My body went into shock and my mother has been forced to travel miles
to help me sustain any self care as I was fatigued and shaking as if I
was going cold turkey from heroin!

My GP says that these syptoms are not down to the SSRIs (which she no
doubt gets a financial incentive from the drug company for prescribin
g in the first place)!

Evidentally they are down to my anxiety about co min pff the.

Bollocks! The only anxiety I have is that I am never going to be
ableto get ogg this medication in the foreseeable future.

It's about cash and not patient care, and it is downright scandalous!

candy, i had muscle spasms, "anxiety" (which is an understatement, it
was more "interrupted thought processes"), sweats, chills, electric
shock sensations, numb arms and legs, I had "neurological episodes"
where i couldnt speak, i kept passing out, fatigue, incredible thirst,
I swear my body went into shock that day, 2 years ago and it hasnt
been the same since. be REALLY careful , even though they suck, i
really did irreversible neurological damage going on and off them...

Pixie I am so sorry to hear of your experience, it's a very
frightening process.

What you are describing is a list of almost identical symptoms to the
ones I have experienced if I have missed a dose, run out of meds, or
tried to reduce the dose.

I really feel like I am a slave to the SSRI's. scares me shitless!

The difference between Scientology and science based medicine is that
science can be wrong!

In other words it changes and improves.

Dianetics was a crock of shit in 1950 and will always be. Science

there are new medicines, new break throughs, new follies, and new
disasters, which are avoided in future, however, new disasters spring
up too. Vioxx, thalidomide, etc, are all science based medicine
disasters which were the new "wonder drug" of their day which did not
make the lives better of those that took it, life was better for those

False. Thalidomide was bad for the unborn children of women who took
it during pregnancy, but did nothing physically harmful to the mothers
who took it. It is still being used today with success.

make the lives better of those that took it" i did not say it
PHYSICALLY HARMED HER, as it was used for pregnancy, it may not be
physically harmful to the mother, but it sure as hell effected her
life, nor make it BETTER, I am sure as hell she didnt set out to have
a dead or deformed baby, and if you think having a dead or deformed
baby makes your life better, there are a few i would like to send to
you from Africa... next time you have a baby with no arms or legs
which you have to take care of for the rest of your life due to a
medication you took, you tell me how much better or worse your life
is. i made no such statement that it PHYSICALLY HARMED THE MOTHER.

"Garry is not immune to other side effects of the drug though. His
hands and feet have become numb and are prone to locking up, so he
finds it difficult to move them.He suffers from a lot of muscular
pain. However although this is less than ideal, it keeps his killer
disease at bay."

anyway, if you know anything about thalidomide, it was one of the
enantiomers that was the bad seed, by getting a stereospecific
synthesis it should not cause so many problems, it is probably
doubtful that they are using the racemic mix of enantiomers currently
in the thalidomide given out today. if they are it is purely for
economical reason, any chemist or biochemist should have known that
one of the enantiomers were not active for its intended use far BEFORE
ANY CLINICAL TRIALS. enantiomers are screened extensively, if nothing
else the enantiomer was left in due to ECONOMIC reasons rather than
scientific reasons as it would be more expensive to leave the
enantiomer in than separate it out, or create an enantiomerically pure
synthesis. so, please tell me again how pharmaceuticals are not driven
by ECONOMICS but rather the scientific purity and medical use of a
compound? No one gives a shit about ANYTHING that will save your life
if it is too expensive to make, your life is simply not worth the
dollars thanks. however, this is one example of a drug that has gone
horribly wrong and did more harm than good for its intended use. You
can sit back and say hoorah now, but if you were one of the mothers
that took this medication for sedation, etc during pregnancy, i think
you would be pretty pissed off that your baby was used as an
experiment and lost its life.

I am not saying the MEDICATION itself is BAD, it was used in the WRONG
WAY without proper scientific knowledge, or IF the knowledge WAS KNOWN
it was IGNORED for ECONOMIC REASONS! like many new prescriptions
today, doctors DONT KNOW what the hell its going to do to you as
proper screening has not been carried out by drug companies but they
just push their drugs to be sold for the money they rake in. another
support of this post in how drug companies influence doctors to use
their meds for various uses without proper screening being done. why
thank you, i rest my case.

I have no doubt that drug companies try to influence doctors, but they will
be unsuccessful because psychologists and psychiatrists are experts on the
human mind and will resist attempts to influence them with marketing that
would brainwash ordinary people.

Any competent psychologist who was offered a free logo pen, pill samples,
or Hawaiian vacation would psychoanalyze the offer and attempt to figure
out what the giver meant by it. Since psychology's ability to read
human behavior is so accurate it resembles telepathy, that means the
psychologist would recognize the behavior as a bribe and would refuse
to prescribe the offending drug on ethical grounds.

Or maybe psychologists can't read minds and really believe that Hawaiian
cruises come with no strings attached, or maybe they know it's a bribe
and just don't care because they are corrupt whores who will say or do
anything for $500/hour.

I'm sorry to tell you but psychologists and psychiatrists are also
part of the problem. That is why we are told to express ourselves, but
those outward gestures is what makes us victims of our government. We
are told to believe in this good versus evil crap, and it's evil that
is running the world. We common people do what we can to change the
world for the better, but it''s a pipe dream, like one step forward,
two steps back, we can only do so much, it's always a struggle. It's
money and power that controls the world, and the one's in charge of it
all don't care.
